Grungy Masculine card

Hello friends!
Hope you all are doing well. Today I have a grungy masculine card to show you. This one I created as the DT project for challenge at Lulupu which was all about masculine cards and tags.

Here are the pictures

I used papers from Prima Marketing. Romance novel, Rondelle and Stationers Desk. I distressed my papers using the comfort craft tool by prima and also used distress inks in Vintage photo, walnut stain and black soot. I did some random doodling around the printed images to add interest. some fussy cutting and random stencilling with prima crackle stencil and Tim Holtz measured stencil using distress ink in walnut stain. Finally gave some ink splatters.

Hope you like the card .
Please leave me your comments and suggestions!

'Dream' Tag

Hello my bloggy friends!

I am in a very pleasant mood today! My whole family is getting together after a long long time! I have been waiting for this day since long..almost a year! I just couldn't sleep in excitement to meet my sisters. So what could be better than some giving myself crafty time :)
Here is small project I worked on today.. A tag. This is one of my very favourite styles.. Grunge.
I love it but don't try it often. This is the second grunge project I have made in these 2 years!

 Have a look.
click on the pics to have a better view.

I have used some prima stationers desk pattern paper for the strips and the dream sentiment. The background paper is also from Prima stationers desk. I used Vintage photo, walnut stain and black soot distress ink to get this look.
Used Kaiserkraft stamp and crafters workshop stencil.

I applied gesso on the metal embellishments and then inked them with alcohol ink in ginger, caramel etc. colours. basically earthy tones.

I used a chain from an old handbag. I am using this in bits and pieces.. I avoid buying stuff I can easily find at home. Up-cycling and reusing things gives me so much satisfaction! The beads you see are from a old Dupatta ( A traditional Indian wear). it was quite old.. and the weak thread broke I  was more than happy! :D

I have also used some crackle paint on the strips of paper and feather. Some diamond dust and glitter balls as well to add to the textures. Used some embroidery thread beneath the DREAM sentiment.

Hope you liked it.
Submitting it to the following challenges-

Lessology- Sew Lovely- I used embroidery thread. Up-cycled item are the golden beads from Dupatta and the chain from an old handbag.

Kraftzone- challenge#7- Pattern paper ( Prima stationers desk),also made my own background pattern paper from dictionary paper.  Stamps (kaiserkraft and stampers anonymous) embellishments( metal flowers, feathers, butterfly and chain and some beads)

You hold the key to my Heart!!

Hello bloggy pals!!
Hope you all are doing great! the crafting isn't going on much these days. Only the little that's restricted to occasions! the northern part of India is immensely cold and chilly these days with temperatures nearing freezing point often and the rains are just making things worse!
Today I have a card to share with you all and its a valentine day card I made for someone special;).. I made it in brown basically and wanted it to have the grungy ..distressed look..I hope I did fine. What do you think??

I used the kraft paper as card base and the kraft layer on top is actually the inside of a packaging of a stamp set..
The heart with wings stamp is from some Chinese company and the texture stamp are kaiserkraft. I also used the Mini Punchinella Template  and Harlequin template. I also used the Prima fairy belle cling stamp so fair pretty...and also Tim Holtz urban grunge script stamp. Used some acrylic paint in red in the heart and glossy accented hem later. The key!!! yep the key! I went on and on searching them from one store to another but could not find them! everywhere they were out of stock ...finally found it with Nupur

The hexagon have been handcut and I did TRIPLE STAMPING. the last layer in the triple stamped image has been fussy cut. used some vintage photo distress ink to give depth to my card..

 the sentiment is computer generated..

Submitting it to the following challenges-

Lessology challenge#32- you hold the key to my heart- the upcycled item I used are the twine used in the card (I hope you can see it just on top of the sentiment) is the one from my old school project files to tie the file papers.i had to ink it to mask the white colour. also the kraft paper layer on top of the base is the packaging of a stamp set.

Mynnettes technique tuesday-Triple stamping- did triple stamping on the top and middle hexagon. the top one has a variation .I fussy cut the last stamped image(instead of layering it on base) to give it the needed dimension.

Do leave me your comments.
Love

This used to be...a book

This used to be, a book
Hi friends!!
Here I am with my latest project especially made for lulupu challenge...This used to be!! A BOOK!

Book-birdhouse

Well some of you may frown as to why did I do this to a book!!
Well actually this is my 15 year old book and I found it out a few days back in the in the huge pile of papers..all dusty ..I quickly picked it up and dusted it...but when I opened up the book...what I saw were holes!!! Yes..moths had eaten up the pages...some of them to the extent that I had to get rid of them!!...so when the  bookwas somewhat in manageable condition...
I decided to make a book birdhouse...There are a number if tutorials on the internet you can find out for yourself...
But to make life little easier..I decided to put up one here myself in case you would want to know!!
how to make:

step1: fold the first page of the book in half vertically ...
step2: Now fold the corner of this page into a triangle...
Step 3: turn over to the next page... And fold this page into a triangle from the bottom right corner

Step 4: fold the top part of the page into a triangle overlapping the bottom triangle  a little bit

Step 5: now repeat the step1 and 2 for the next page

Step 6: repeat the step 3 and 4 for the next page

Step 7:Keep on alternating between step 5 and step 6

Step 8: glue the pages

Book-Birdhouse

Note:

  • A 200 page book is enough to give you a flat birdhouse
  • If you wish you can use 2 flat birdhouses and attach them back to back to give a circular birdhouse...The above tutorial gives a bird house like mine with slanting slopes..

Hope this tutorial helps!!

PS: There are a few things I have put up in my blog as embellishments or album and scrapbook inserts .If you want a tutorial for any please let me know here.. It will be a pleasure to help..

Thank you...

monochromatic friendship day card

Hi...
Here is a friendship day card I made...
Its a monochromatic ...in shade of brown..i just couldn't get the right colours in the pics though:(

I used some jute to make the bow... and did some tea dying to the white organza ribbon...got this idea from Lee's blog :)

Used some flat back pearls and ruffled up the Organza ribbon to make that trim. The sentiment is a printed one. And the background behind it has been handmade by me.. I liked the way it turned out... used some vintage photo and walnut stain distress inks too...

and this is the inside of the card...

Supplies used:

the desert bloom  pattern paper from imaginations
silhouette butterfly punch, flat back pearls and  the organza ribbon from A1Craft Supply

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

My first mini album!!

I want to share with you guys my very first mini album...I made this album for my parents on their marriage anniversary .I wanted to keep the theme both vintage and flowery so decided to use the fresh floral paper stack  from DCVW which i purchased from imaginationsonline and some distress inks..
I have used various shapes for pages... love the poppy shape

This post is picture heavy so please bear with me...

This is the cover... made the black satin roses and the glittered butterfly myself...the heart  charm on top right corner is an old jewellery..Album is titled "listen to your heart"... pie lane adhesive bling and stamp from Tim holtz urban grunge from imaginations...

Here I have made a stain flower and few paper roses... two photo mats which I have distressed and stamped with walnut stain and vintage photo..using tim holtz urban grunge acrylic stamp.. the flourish is a chipboard from itsybitsy
On the right is a small booklet to hold pics of my mom n dad...

These are the 4th  and 5th pages...on the left is an top open envelope with photo mats some lace and a handmade spiral satin rose with a simple jewellery pin...and on the right is an accordion booklet which opens both ways to accommodate pictures and journaling... there are also my handmade yo yo flowers with button centres...

The 6th and 7th pages...with a number of photo mats on the 6th and a simple distressed photo mat on 7th  page... the charm is again an old artificial jewellery...the 7th page is all stamped and distressed using tim holtz urban grunge stamp and walnut stain

Following are next two pages..the paper flowers are made using the same paper from the collection and distressed with inks...photo mats have been used to accommodate pics here too...here the fiskars butterfly magic acrylic stamp has also been used ...

With These pages  I wanted to have a different colour but still carrying the same look. The glittered butterfly is from itsybitsy...adhesive bling from pie lane from imaginations...the page on the left has been crumpled...then flattened and distressed using faded jeans distress ink and then finally hot ironed...
the flower on the right is made by me using the paper from the collection

In these pages again i have handmade the spiral paper roses and the satin flowers with beaded  flower centre... the photo mat on left side is made using paper distressing technique...
On the right i have made a small booklet which slips into the transparent sheet  envelope which has been decorated using the flowers....

the booklet opens like so..
I have slipped in a few pics to show how it works...there is a lot of space for pictures and journaling in here too... the tutorial for this booklet is by kathyorta on her YouTube channel...

The following page on the left has a photo mat and a few old flowers... there is a bead sprig I created using silver thick flower making wire...the right side has an accordion style envelope with many photo mats...
