Layout using scraps

Hello friends! here I am with one of my recent layouts I made using scraps.

Here it is...
layout
Here are a few close up's-
did you notice the glossy accent buttons?? I love them:)

here is a pic showing how I used up my scraps-

When using scraps I knew I could not make any background  as all that I had were maximum of 2-3 inch squares..at times I had to cut in a scrap paper in the middle to give the illiusion of it being bigger in size (the top layers will hide it in this case.) .  I used my scraps to make the heart ornament. it's not one pattern paper that I used here .In fact 2 kinds of red PP which I inked so that they look similar. I also made banners out of leftovers. Most of the scraps are from Glitz paper pack which I have been using to make a mini album off lately. The layout is titled memories and its a picture is from the last year V-day:) The day was really special although I was all alone!! so just thought to scrap it and save the memory for life!

Shabby chic card and tag

Hello friends..here is a card I made today ..and I am quite happy with it as I made it in a little over 30 minutes :) :)

Used a lot of 'throwaway stuff'. The corrugated paper is from a cardboard box..I peeled off the top layer to expose the corrugated surface then used the peeled part to layer on top of it.. the base of my card and the base of the tag are from a wedding invite .the vintage lace is from a bed sheet ..my aunt gave it to me when she finally decided to throw away the bed sheet. The leaves are again from the same wedding invite ..I cut them into leaves and used antique linen distress ink on edges. The rest of the layering has been done by the packaging paper from the prima stamp set. The roses have been made by me..No dies..just some scissors and old paper..ribbon is from my stash. Applied gesso over the key charm and the roses to tone them down..

the sentiment is handwritten. The beads are from my stash and I acrylic painted them

Use your scraps- Create Geometrical patterns

Hi there friends!
This is my second post to show how to use your scraps... Motivated by the current challenge at lulupu
Here I have made two cards using my scraps..
have a look..

CARD 1-
How?
The scraps are from the cover page of LA CREAME paper stack from DCWV. Notice the patterned squares??
well these are the small display pictures you will find in the top corner of the cover..I loved them and didn't want to waste... so layered them to black cardstock

CARD 2-

This second card again uses the cover page of LA CREAME paper stack. It was so gorgeous that I thought of including it in some of my project.
How?
You might have noticed the cover page has some tiny tits bits of the inside pages..I used them to create this card...these were 2 squares on the cover page around 1.5 to 2 inches each .I didn't want to throw away these so just chopped then and layered them..
the small flower is also from the same cover ..but the scrap paper was so small that the flower could not come out as full as it should have been..

Both the above two cards used base cardstock which is from a single wedding card..it has such a beautiful vanilla colour and awesome thickness! I could not resist the urge to make use of them..

How did I plan?
1- I planned to make cards with monochromatic theme so sorted my scraps accordingly
2- black and white or black and cream look most stylish and elegant in geometrical patterns!  I seriously think so ..therefore tried to create sharp and straight patterns..

Submitting it to the following challenges-
hope you like my way of using these scraps..
please leave your comments..

Use your scraps- Create Qulit cards :)

Hey friends! its me again..

Well!! It has been raining and there have been hailstorms as well and the weather is all ehhh! so dull and windy and cold!!I think its going to rain yet again today! So today I made something which suits the season and climate here...a quilt card!

Notice the border ...do you? I loved the result after giving it a try:)

Made use of the tits bits from a few papers that were leftovers of the projects in the past...these are
mostly if you notice DCWV fresh floral stack ones...
CAUTION- this is a never ending paper stack gals.i bought it 2 or 3 years back. Got sick of it . chopped the 12x12 papers to 6x6 thinking I might use them now. And still I have them just like that...!!phewww

I had seen such cards on the net and loved them..I usually collect all my loved stuff on pinterest..I feel this is the most awesome way to save space and also keep the pictures that you love with you!

 How?
Collect some scrap papers with nearly similar colours. And cut them into random square or rectangular pieces. Adjust and stick and sew!
I did some simple stitching but it definitely wasn't simple for me...it took me so long!~!
The 'ENJOY' is from a dear bloggy friend of mine Kathy From--- The Daily Maker...An awesome crafter! really talented! the button and ribbon are from my stash and the gorgeous mulberry rose from Maninder's shop! isn't the colour just soooo ohhh!!!wow!

You hold the key to my Heart!!

Hello bloggy pals!!
Hope you all are doing great! the crafting isn't going on much these days. Only the little that's restricted to occasions! the northern part of India is immensely cold and chilly these days with temperatures nearing freezing point often and the rains are just making things worse!
Today I have a card to share with you all and its a valentine day card I made for someone special;).. I made it in brown basically and wanted it to have the grungy ..distressed look..I hope I did fine. What do you think??

I used the kraft paper as card base and the kraft layer on top is actually the inside of a packaging of a stamp set..
The heart with wings stamp is from some Chinese company and the texture stamp are kaiserkraft. I also used the Mini Punchinella Template  and Harlequin template. I also used the Prima fairy belle cling stamp so fair pretty...and also Tim Holtz urban grunge script stamp. Used some acrylic paint in red in the heart and glossy accented hem later. The key!!! yep the key! I went on and on searching them from one store to another but could not find them! everywhere they were out of stock ...finally found it with Nupur

The hexagon have been handcut and I did TRIPLE STAMPING. the last layer in the triple stamped image has been fussy cut. used some vintage photo distress ink to give depth to my card..

 the sentiment is computer generated..

Submitting it to the following challenges-

Lessology challenge#32- you hold the key to my heart- the upcycled item I used are the twine used in the card (I hope you can see it just on top of the sentiment) is the one from my old school project files to tie the file papers.i had to ink it to mask the white colour. also the kraft paper layer on top of the base is the packaging of a stamp set.

Mynnettes technique tuesday-Triple stamping- did triple stamping on the top and middle hexagon. the top one has a variation .I fussy cut the last stamped image(instead of layering it on base) to give it the needed dimension.

Do leave me your comments.

An Origami Gift box

Hello my bloggy pals!!
Today I want to show you all an origami gift box I made (I'm quite late in publishing the post)...I made this to gift favours to my mom and dad on Christmas...but while making the box I happened to finish almost all the chocolates I had bought for them!! and then I started sulking! All the efforts I had put in on my treadmill and cardio exercises in the past 1 month  have gone waste! Of course yesss...I already feel fat:(
Well here is the box...

Used gesso to give the feel of snow..After all its Christmas!

Bought some more chocolates to fill in before taking the pictures...now you can guess how spacious the box is! actually I felt bad taking a snap of the empty box..it was cutting such a sorry figure! all because of me..

I hope you like the box.. This is the first time I tried my hands on origami! Its such a wonderful art! No use of any scissors!! (it was the only lid for which I needed the scissors.)
On the lid I used fabric bandage, lots of wet tissue...lots of gesso, jasmine border die cut, doiley diecut, lace mulberry flowers, sequins, stickpin, pielane butterfly sticker, flourish on which I applied some golden acrylic paint and chunky golden glitter..
